Kato's 7 months old now, and I've been noticing that he always have these pimples under his mouth near the chin.
We have referred this to the Vet and he was given antibiotics before.  It will clear after taking the antibiotics
but later on the pimples will come back again.  Kato's been eating more of the fresh meat and less of the
dry pellets.  What could be the cause of the recurring pimples.  It is kind of disturbing because he sometimes
scratch the pimples and it bleeds.

Regards and Happy New Year to everyone!!!!

Thanks for this.
Kato is fawn coloured.  I am sure if we bring back to the vet, he will be given antibiotics again.
Most of the time, before sleeping at night I clean his mouth and under the chin with warm cloth.
I know somehow it will relieve him of the itch.

Yes, I've been using stainless steel bowl for him since day 1.
It is comforting to hear from you, that the pimples are quite common among pugs.

Thanks.

You can use a mild astringent like witch hazel to wipe his chin, too. They tend to grow out the pimple stage, like teenagers. You can use what a teenager would use, but use the mildest one possible. The smell is horrible as I remember and dogs are so much more sensitive to it than we are. And the strong stuff is just too strong.

You can also use an over the counter antibiotic cream on them. In the US, we have Neosporin. Not sure what you have in Australia. I keep tubes of it on hand all the time for various scrapes and boo boos. Definitely something to keep in your first aid kit for puggy.

Duckie gets them sometimes.  I also use witch hazel on his.  They clear up pretty quickly with the witch hazel,  i use pet gel instead of neosporin since he spmetimes has them where he can lick them and Pet Gel is a toothpaste for dogs made by oxyfresh so he won't get sick from licking it.  I don't use the witch hazel on those spots just pet gel so it takes a little longer to go away.

Thanks.  I am not sure if we have both the witch hazel and the pet gel here in Australia.
But I will look around what is equivalent here.

Thanks all!!!

You can leave them...they'll go away on their own. Wash their bowls after meal time just to keep them clean. Pug pimples!

We have a pug and a puggle and they both get those pimples on there mouth... I didn't think anything of them as they always go away. How about using bag balm that is a aniseptiec for animals and it wont hurt them...

Now here's a question I have if anyone can help me? my pug has a pimple like in the corner of his right eye has anyone ever dealt with that? and if so what did you use on it?

BCHansmann, when it comes to eyes, I don't treat at home. I go to the vet. For many other things, I will try home remedies first, but the eyes are so sensitive. You can't put just anything in or near the eye. And without knowing what the bump is (ingrown eyelash or infection), you just don't know what to do.
Good luck.

Thanks.  Actually, I did try to just leave the pimples and I have been noticing that some of the pimples healed on their own without any
medication.  He still have some pimples but not as much as before.
I am not sure with pimples near the eye, if it really looks so bad, I guess better consult with the Vet.

I have been giving Kato an Aloe Vera conditioner to bathe him.  I think the Aloe Vera is good to heal wounds like the pimples.

I never thought that dogs can have pimples since my Buggy never had any. What antibiotics are good for dog pimples?
