As most of you know I adopted two older puggies a couple of weeks ago. One of them had to find a new home because my mom had surgery and she likes to jump on laps (but at least we saved her from being put down). Anyway, the pug we kept, Frankie, was not eating her food or treats. I thought it was weird since she usually ate both of their foods, but today I found a tooth in her crate. I went to the store and bought her some canned food to eat incase her teeth hurt and that is why she won't eat, and she is eating the canned food like crazy so I know she is not ill. But I don't know why her tooth fell out. Is this normal? She is 8 years old so it is obviously not her puppy teeth. Should I be worried, or take her to the vet? thank you for your comments.

It is possible that she might have some type of infected tooth/teeth or something going on with her gums. I would take her to the vet just to be sure everything is ok Smile Hopefully others will chime in, keep us posted!

Pop into the content-articles section (left hand menu) and go into the Health section, there's an article on Dental Care. More than likely Frankie never had any and could use some. Don't be surprised if one has fallen out on it's own that more may need to come out. We had one boy come to us at 7 who had to have *SIX* teeth pulled - and he lost a few others later on, which we knew was going to happen, but we didn't want to leave him toothless. But yeah, that's a sign that she probably needs some work done.

Squinch her for us Smile

ok, well, we're going to take her in as soon as mom gets home from the hospital. As of right now I am feeding her canned food so it doesn't hurt her mouth. thank you for your replies.
